Sticky rice, also known as Glutinous rice is a type of rice whose high starch content causes the grains to stick together completely during cooking – even more so than round grains (“rice pudding”, Japonica). Uncooked glutinous rice is easily recognizable by its matt white and, above all, completely opaque (not glassy) grains.
